Welcome to Her Pursuit of Happiness! Thank you for taking an interest. I want to share with you a bit about why I started this blog and what I hope We will get out of this.
I’ve been fortunate enough to live 31 years and I owe all thanks to God for that. In that timeframe, I have experienced a LOT as a little girl and then as a woman. I have gone through peaks and valleys, highs and lows, good and bad. I’ve made decisions I’m not proud of and ones that I stand by to this day. I have lived, loved, and endured this journey thus far by the grace of God and I believe that to continue to evolve, I must move on to the next chapter of self-development.
I spent a better part of my life being a people pleaser because I suffered from low self-esteem and lack of self-worth. When I “burned out” from helping pleasing others to find my value, I went into a cocoon believing that no one understood, no one cared enough, and it was pretty much me against the world. I internalized everything I was going through figuring I could handle it all on my own.
I do believe that some of this was mine to work out on my own, some journeys I was meant to go through without the support of others, it was necessary to get me where I am today. To who I am today. However, I also believe a lot of my struggles could have been made easier if I let people in and allowed them to know me and love me for who I am.
So, with Her Pursuit of Happiness, it is my sincere hopes to move into the next chapter of self-development, to share my stories with other women who have been through similar situations. To be more open about what I’ve experienced, to share some of my innermost thoughts and feelings. Through sharing my story with you, I hope that your stories, words of advice and conversations will help me to heal and grow further as a woman.
My goal for you with Her Pursuit of Happiness is for you to have a platform to share your experience, be open, and get support and help from like-minded women. My goal for us, is to build a connection as women that will unify us so that we may grow and evolve to be the strong women God intended us to be.
In a society where women are objectified, undervalued, and underappreciated, I believe that now is a good a time as any to help each other reach a superior level of greatness. To help each woman recognize and tap into the queen that she is so that she can obtain her happiness. So again welcome, enjoy, and stay tuned for weekly blog posts.
